A College is considered as an academic institution of higher learning. In College, the library occupies a prominent position and it is an important and integral part of the teaching programme. It is not merely a depository of books, but an active workshop instrument in the production of or original thinking. The aim of legal education and law libraries are inter-related. Law College library extends opportunities for self-education to the deserving and enthusiastic students without any distinction. The College library stimulates the students to obtain, evaluate and recognize knowledge and to familiarize themselves with the trends of knowledge for further education and learning new disciplines. It is commonly believed that “the nation that reads is the nation that leads”. Keeping this view in mind, Sureswar Dutta Law College provides its library facility having ample amount of books, journals and other study materials. The location of the library is such that it provides an ambience of calmness with easy accessibility.

Sureswar Dutta Law College Library is a very big Library with a vast collection of law books as well as non-law books because four non-law subjects are there in the 5 year B.A.LL.B. course syllabus i.e., English, Political Science, Sociology and Economics. So, sufficient amount of books of all subjects are there in the Library.

Except Books, the Library has an enormous collection of Law Journals. There is a specified section for Law Journals. The Subscribed Law Journals are All India Reporter, Supreme Court Cases, Calcutta Law Times, and Indian Bar Review. Except these, other journals are Journal of Indian Law Institute, Corporate Law Advisor, Annual Survey of Indian Law, Practical Lawyer etc. Behind this, the College itself publishes its own Journal i.e. SDLC Law Review which is a bi-annual Law Journal. The College Library also has a subscription of an E-Legal Database. Students can view latest updates on judgments delivered by Supreme Court and High Courts, orders of tribunals, notifications, circulars, case history etc. They can find various articles, E-Books, Case Laws, Bare Acts etc over there.

The College Library has a partnership with British Council Library. The British Council Library is the one-stop shop for high-quality content sourced from publishers across the world. From British Council Library students can issue books and e-books, films, music, audio books, comics, graphic novels, academic journals, research papers, self-access trainings, newspapers, magazines, and a lot more, available both online and offline. Students can attain different seminars organized by British Council and they can avail various English courses also.
